Come Boldly to the Throne

It may not be an easy thing to live in sweet fellowship with everyone; but that is what the grace of God is for. - D.L. Moody

(Hebrews 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.  (KJV)

One of Ten Things

Lt. Columbo always caught his man, usually before that happened he turned to the suspect with a statement that said, "Oh, just one more thing."

Have you considered this one thing?

  • Dwelling in the house of the Lord

(Psalms 27:4) One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. {the beauty: or, the delight}  (KJV)

1. Why dwell in the house of the Lord?

  • (Psalms 26:8) LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.  (KJV)
The house of the Lord is where God's honor is found.

Here are some scriptures that talk about honor:

(Psalms 29:2) Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.  (KJV)

(Psalms 34:3) O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.  (KJV)

(Psalms 57:5) Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.  (KJV)

(Psalms 71:8) Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.  (KJV)

(Psalms 107:32) Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.  (KJV)

(Psalms 145:5) I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.  (KJV)

(Isaiah 25:1) O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.  (KJV)

(Revelation 19:7) Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  (KJV)

Is it our desire to dwell in the house of the Lord forever?

I think of it in this manner, to dwell in a place with someone means that I will be near to them.

I can be nearer to the Lord when I am in a place to spend time with him.

Places where I can be near to the Lord:

  • At church. (Hebrews 10:25)
  • In my prayer closet.(1 Thessalonians 5:17)
  • While studying His Word. (2 Timothy 2:15)
Where do you spend time alone with God?

The Dirt Man's Purpose

(Genesis 2:7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; man became a living soul.  (KJV)
I am a rich, dirt man. However, I am not the only one to hold that title, there are many of us in this world.

(James 2:5) Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?  (KJV)

Man, who was created in the image of God, has the unique opportunity to fellowship with God for all of eternity.

Through the words that are written down here, it is my hope to help others connect with God the creator, and discover the special relationship that we as dirt men can enjoy, not only in this life but for an eternity to come.

Listen to these words of Jesus Christ,
(John 10:10) "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."  (KJV)
