(Genesis 2:7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (KJV)
I am a man made of dirt. A dusty man that has his faults and has seen his share of failures through all walks of life.
The wonderful thing about realizing that I am an imperfect man (Romans 3:23) is that it helps me understand that I am a man of unclean lips (Isaiah 6:5) when I want to focus on the weaknesses of others.
That being said, I can now tell you the wondrous story of how I have been forgiven by Jesus Christ. My sins have been washed away and I have the free gift of eternal life.
That is why I consider myself rich. I have been given a new life filled with love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace.
There will never be a day that I am unloved by my heavenly Father.
Blessings abound in my life, spiritual blessings, financial blessings. Blessings of family and friends are around daily.
I have the opportunity to share my faith with all that I am able to and pray with those that are in need.
There is joy even in the hard times of life when I learn to look beyond the negative circumstances and watch for the way that God is going to work.
This body of mine may be dirt, but my spirit is full of life through the power of the Holy Spirit.
There are so many ways that I am rich. I am a child of the King as well as a joint heir. (Romans 8:17)
